Meet Our Board
Kristen King
President
Hello! My name is Kristen King, and I am excited to be your CERWIB President! I was born and raised in Alaska and currently live in Chugiak. I am a wife and stepmom, and my family is without a doubt my favorite thing in the world! I'm a Licensed Esthetician and own Honey Bee Beauty located in Chugiak. I enjoy the outdoors, going on family adventures, and serving my community. I recently became a Licensed Fitness Instructor and love using my passion for movement to teach others.
I have been involved with CERWIB in various ways for the past 8 years; from starting as a member, to serving a general board position, to Vice-President, and now President. I can't tell you how much I have enjoyed what CERWIB has brought to both my professional and personal life. The connections and friendships I've made have been so fulfilling, and I have loved getting involved with the board and committees.
CERWIB has helped me learn to flourish as a business owner, and the education and networking opportunities offered to our members have brought me so much joy. I love seeing our members connect and learn from each other, and empowering fellow female business owners with education and tools for success is so thrilling. I'm excited to work with this organization in a leadership role, and work with our board to make the coming years amazing! I look forward to seeing you at an upcoming event!
Tara Murdoch-Barndt
Vice President
Tara Murdoch-Barndt was born and raised in Alaska, with Eagle River being her home where she and her husband James are raising their two children Dylan and Sydnee. Tara has been in the mortgage loan industry for the past 25 plus years, with her current employer being Residential Mortgage LLC. Her position as a loan officer has provided her the ability to serve her community both locally and all across the state of Alaska. Aside from her true passion for making homeownership dreams come true, she is also the President for the local Chugiak Soccer Club and is very active with the teams and several committees. Tara enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, soccer, and camping. She is very excited to be a member of the Chugiak Eagle River Women in Business and looks forward to meeting and learning from so many talented women. Tara is looking forward to serving on the board and providing any assistance or knowledge to help others become homeowners.
Cindi Brewington
Treasurer
Cynthia Brewington was born and raised in Alaska. She grew up in Palmer and moved to the Eagle River area in 1992. Cynthia started her own tax and accounting business in Anchorage in 1995 and moved her practice to Eagle River in 2013. Cynthia believes the best part of her business is the ability to help individuals and businesses. There is such a sense of joy when a client comes in horribly stressed out and leaves with a smile on their faces. Cynthia is looking forward to meeting and learning from the women who are a part of CERWIB.

Aurora enjoys working and playing in Alaska’s great outdoors. She is a life long Nordic skier and currently coaches for Chugiak Eagle River Nordic Ski Club.
Her greatest passion is serving our local and statewide community. She currently serves on multiple boards and committees (including CERWIB’s board!) and volunteers her time at a variety of non-profits.

Melissa Flint

Hello All. I'm Melissa Flint. I've been a military spouse for nearly 20 years and in moving our family around the world several times, I have learned that tenacity, honesty, heart, and hard work are what get things done. I've also learned that there is no "I" in team. We need each other. The more ideas the better. The more socializing the better. I love CERWIB because it combines networking, brainstorming, learning, and fun. Women are this world's superpower and your power empowers me. May I be the same for you. Bring on 2022! I can't wait to see where it takes us!

Julie Moraes
Board Member
Julie Moraes is a multimedia artist from Eagle River, Alaska.
Julie started teaching resin art classes in 2019 at various places in Anchorage.
In 2021 Julie opened up her own studio in Anchorage to teach art classes which include resin, acrylic painting on wood canvas and drinking glasses, mosaic art and hat burning (pyrography) Julie also offers mobile paint parties and fundraisers! You can find her at Odd Man Rush brewing once a month hosting Sip & Paint Events, it has become date night central in Eagle River, a lot of couples participate! along with 61° North Winery hosting various workshops. Julie believes that art can be therapeutic and empowering. Her classes are designed to be fun and relaxed (no experience required) allowing participants to explore their creativity without feeling intimidated.
Melissa Boyd

Hello! My name is Melissa Boyd and I am a Realtor with Century 21 Realty Solutions in Eagle River. Just to give you a little background on me, I was born and raised here in Alaska. My husband is active duty in the Air Force and works in the 962nd AWACS squadron on JBER. We met here in Alaska in 2018. We have 3 kids; 2 boys and 1 girl. I have a B.A. degree in print journalism & art/graphic design (2004), and my M.Ed. in teaching special education (2021). I have lived here in Eagle River since 2005. I was a member of CERWIB back in 2005 when I had a small graphic art business, so I knew I wanted to rejoin CERWIB the moment I got my real estate license. I love CERWIB not only because of the networking and education opportunities, but because of the strong relationships I build with other women who are like-minded. It is a very positive organization and we always have a lot of fun while supporting each other.
