Say hello to our October Member Spotlight!
My first decorating experience happened when I was in the third grade. My grandmother thought that I would enjoy redecorating my room as a good distraction from the arrival of a new baby brother. As we carefully coordinated bedding, window treatments, and wallcovering, my grandmother suggested that I study Interior Design. That treasured moment turned into a passion, and a bad habit of rearranging my mother's furniture!
In 2002, I received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Interior Design from Harding University. I have worked for Architectural Firms in Texas and Oklahoma, practicing Commercial Interiors, and as a Design Industry Representative for a wallcovering and fabric distributor. Kandi Hernandez Interior Design was born from the desire to share my love of all things home and my ability to manage a project well. I am blessed to be creative, relatable, organized, and driven. It is my goal to run an interior design business that not only produces beautiful spaces but allows my clients to relax in the professionalism and value I bring to their project.
Besides practicing design, I am a wife and mother to four boys. I love to read, bake, and watch sitcoms. Our family loves to play board games, go camping, cook together, and travel. We are a military family, and have had the pleasure of living in Oklahoma, Germany, and Alaska. The diversity that comes from moving and experiencing life in new places has benefited my design skills and style.
